I’m baaaack for volume two of “Three Things I Thrifted”! I have three really fun home decor finds that are super unique and all dirt cheap. My absolute favorite part of our apartment is all of the antique elements I have curated over the past few years. It’s so fun to look at something and remember the story behind scouting it out, while also knowing there are so many other memories attached to it that you will never know. I’m such a sucker for a piece with some history. Let’s take a look at what I’ve snagged!
This mini peacock chair plant stand was the most exciting find. Dillon and I went to Value Village last week looking for wedding decor (I don’t have a venue yet, but you better believe I’ve already scouted decor from every resale store #priorities). This was sitting on the shelf calling my name with a $3 price tag. I am all about quirky vintage knick knacks like this, and it’s perfect for holding my ever-growing succulent collection (pun intended). Now I’m keeping an eye out for an actual sized peacock chair, I can’t get enough of these boho vibes lately!
Next up is this huge cozy fringe throw that I scored for $5. Most of you probably recognize how crazy this is with how expensive blankets can get. It’s hard to tell in these photos, but this guy is about 8 feet by 8 feet, totally movie night material! I originally bought it for our “No Boys Allowed” Slumber Party, and am still getting use out of it after the fact. You’ve probably noticed in photos around here that I am constantly changing around my decor. It’s a huge deal to me that all of our rooms have a similar vibe so that I can rotate pieces as I tire of them. I normally keep a really colorful throw over Dillon’s “Big Papa Chair” (also a resale find), but this comfy white one has been making it feel like winter in Apartment 3A.
Last up are these antique horse head bookends. We scored them at the Elkhorn Flea Market 2 summers ago and they have always made me so happy. If I remember correctly, I think they cost us $8. At the time, I was going through a “spray paint EVERYTHING bright gold phase” and wanted to paint over the pretty bronze finish right when we got them. Dillon convinced me to live with them for a while before painting over it, and he was so right. Sometimes that man makes a few good points 😉 I really am so happy that we kept the original finish, and I love using them to show off my favorite books! Things that are pretty AND practical are the best.
I hope these posts give you some inspo to get out and hit your local thrift shops! It’s a really fun way for me to show off my vintage finds, and with how busy I’ve been feeling these days it’s a nice push to get myself out there to dig through the racks. I find antiquing so therapeutic, and I’m sure ya’ll would feel the same if you give it a chance! May the bins be ever in your favor! 💖
