MOTHER’S DAY GIFT GUIDE
Guys, the time has come. We’ve all been saying “I’ll order something soon” for months… and now we’re actually a couple of weeks out from Mother’s Day. If you’re anything like myself, April got away from you and you’re scrambling for gift ideas (SORRY MOM!). This is probably your last chance to online shop without paying crazy expedited shipping fees, so I thought I would throw ya’ll a bone and show you some of the coolest mom gifts I’ve seen on the internet.
- Instax Camera– Remember when Polaroids were the only cameras around? If you’re a Millennial like myself, probably not. But it still feels pretty cool to pretend you’re reliving that time, right? Imagine how much cooler it would be for your mom who actually had one of these bad boys when she was your age. This gift is the perfect way to send your mom back to her glory years!
- Mac Matte Lipstick– Ever since a friend bought me one about a year ago, I will back MAC Matte Lipsticks all day. It may not be the cheapest product around, but they are SO worth the money. I’ve experimented around with other brands and always come back to this. I love the “Kinda Sexy” shade for a mom because it gives you a little bit of color without being too dramatic.
- Denim Duster– If your mom is anything like mine, she is in a constant battle between staying fashionable and still being “age appropriate”. I cannot tell you how many times my mom has asked “but is this too young for me?”. I think this is such a fun way to do the denim jacket trend and still feel mature. It’s perfect for Spring, and one of those gifts that she will be glad to receive even if she may not have originally thought to buy for herself.
- Birchbox Subscription– Lately everyone and their mom (ha!) is a makeup expert. Think back to 10-15 years ago and this was not the case at all. Throwing a ton of money into our makeup bags is normal for our generation, but isn’t something that most moms are on board with. Buying her a Birchbox Subscription is a great way to let your mom see what’s out there and get a little further into the cosmetic craze without a big financial commitment.
- Childhood Art Necklace– I love this. It’s one of those sentimental gifts that would definitely send a mom into tears. This Etsy Shop will take a drawing that you (or one of your kids) has done, and turn it into a wearable piece of jewelry! So sweet. I can also back that this shop does quality work, as a friend recently gifted me a bracelet from her and I am obsessed with it.
- Olivia Pope Wine Glass– Has your mom watched Scandal? If she’s a gladiator like myself (#TeamFitz), then she would be SO excited to get this wine glass! I totally see this being put in a basket with some popcorn and a bottle of wine. She will be all set to have a classic Olivia Pope dinner and binge a season or two!
- Still Got It Clutch– This is adorable for obvious reasons. I don’t know about you, but I am keeping my fingers crossed that I age as well as my mother. If your mamas still got it, let her know that you think so! It’s also a great size for storing makeup.
- Copper French Press– Any coffee loving moms out there? Mine personally hates it, but thankfully that didn’t rub off on me. I have mentioned on here before that my french press is my favorite, and this one is SO cute.
- Volcano Candle– Who doesn’t love going to Anthropologie stores? Everything is gorgeous, the playlist is always on point, and it smells AMAZING. Have you ever noticed that? The smell in Anthro is heaven. The signature scent that most stores use is their Volcano Candle. Anyone would love to get this!
- Cool Mom Tee– Have you and your mom watched Mean Girls together? If so, she will get a kick out of this shirt. This is the perfect way to give an actual “mom themed” Mother’s Day gift while still being a little humorous and not too predictable.
- Thug Kitchen– YES! You guys, this is everything. I am an avid cookbook reader and collector, and I can without a doubt say that this is my favorite one. The recipes are healthy and delicious, photos are gorgeous, and verbiage is hilarious. This book is perfect for your mom if she loves to cook and has a good sense of humor.
- Intro To Weaving E-Course– I will admit that not all moms will understand and appreciate the idea of an e-course. However, I have taken them in the past and think they are an incredible resource. It’s so great to be able to learn a new skill in your PJs, on the couch, and on your own time. If your mom is crafty and somewhat in touch with technology, she would be all about this! Even if she’s not tech-savvy and you think the course would confuse her, why not help her out with it? She would love the quality time with you!
- VHS to DVD Converter– I think we all can appreciate this one, who doesn’t love home videos?! Most of us have a collection of VHS tapes with embarrassing moments laying around, but very few people actually use VHS players anymore. Buying your mom this gadget will allow her to switch these memories over to a more modern format.
- Bath Caddy and Bath Bomb– I think what most moms are looking for is some time to relax. At the end of the day, isn’t that why we give them this holiday to begin with? Moms give up so much time for others throughout the year, and most will not take a moment for themselves unless told to! Gift your mom these goodies and tell her to put her feet up, light a candle, pour a glass of wine and take a mini momcation from the madness.
- Scallop Tote– This bag is the perfect mix of pretty and practical. If your mom has a ton of stuff to tote around (as most do) this is perfect! It’s one of those gifts that pretty much anyone could find a use for and would be excited to receive.
I hope this helped! DON’T put it off any longer, no one wants to be stuck with an overnight shipping fee that costs as much as their gift! Now if you’ll excuse me, i’ll be over here frantically searching for more ideas. There’s a 99% chance my mom is reading as we speak, so I suppose I can’t use any of these for myself. You’re welcome 😉 Happy shopping!!
